Should I Hire a Marketing Contractor or Full Agency?
This decision usually comes down to how much you need done and how much oversight you want to provide.
A marketing contractor (freelancer) is a good fit if you have a narrow, well-defined need. Someone just to manage your Google Business Profile, or just edit your videos. They’re often less expensive per hour, but you’re typically managing the strategy yourself and may need multiple freelancers to cover SEO, video, ads, and social separately.
A full agency makes more sense if you want the whole strategy handled. SEO, content, video, ads, Google Business Profile, social media management, ALL under one roof working together instead of in separate silos. It costs more than a single freelancer, but you’re not the one connecting the dots between five different people who’ve never talked to each other.
A few questions that help clarify which one you need:
- Do you already know exactly what you need done, or do you need someone to build the strategy?
- Do you have time to manage multiple freelancers and keep them aligned?
- Is your goal one specific fix, or an ongoing, growing lead pipeline?
Most contractors who try a patchwork of freelancers end up frustrated because nobody owns the whole picture. The ads person doesn’t talk to the SEO person, nobody’s tracking whether any of it is actually producing jobs, and communication is scattered at best. That’s the gap a niche agency like EJ Studios is built to fill: one point of contact, one strategy, covering SEO, video, and social together for contractors specifically.
